Antti Larvala, CEO at CAL360 Degrees (Brussels, Belgium) posted a great idea in our e-invoicing LinkedIN group. It is a mobile app with a barcode/QR scanner. Underneath is his idea and a image of his idea. So what do you think? Is it any good? Does it already exist? Who wants to invest?

“During summer I was toying around idea how mobile payments could be combined with barcode readers. Some of my friends have online banking app with their iPhone. They can scan new paper payments with camera and barcode. When scanning they picture they upload document info to banking app and pay. It seems to work fine with them.

For this idea, I started to make an idea, where one phone app could generate barcodes, send message to email-address or as SMS to phone. Receiving party would get message, open his app and read barcode. This message would be then read by own banking app on phone and payment would be executed by phone.

Only it requires one app which generates barcodes including my own bank info and other payment info. This app could be on phone or stand alone service online. Other app, even inside mobile banking, then would read this message and execute payment. If I would not like to pay with my phone, I could read same codes from my PC using my online bank.

This kind of idea would help SME’s to send e-invoices straight to bank customers. Even micropayment could be managed same way.

How do you see this idea?”

  1. Idea is simple but would help companies and really small business owners but also private persons to send invoices using mobile phone.

Think a situation where you are running for example sport club. You send invoices to your members. You create invoice, add payment info, payment date and add email address or sms number of receiving party. Then generate barcode for payment and send it.

Other end would get payment info to his mobile phone or email. Then he reads barcode of payment and pays with his mobile bank app. If his mobile bank app does not support barcodes, then he still can pay with as text form included in message.

This could be mobile app, it could be stand alone service or it could be even software installed in your pc to generate invoices with barcode and send those to customers.

Let me know your ideas and let’s share some situation who it could work. Also if you are developer or investor with knowledge of payment industry, drop me email. I am ready to discuss how this app could work in payment industry.
